WOONBEURS

Last september I won the Woonbeurs (Interieur design fair) Pitching-contest.
The prize was: making a arty contribution to the Woonbeurs 2010.
Now I'm designing two huge three-dimensional illustrations on the theme:
'Land of (the) Living'. I'm very excited about it and think it's going to look
amazing at the fair! I can't really tell more but here is a little sneak preview...
WRAPPING-PAPER

A few weeks ago I (re)discovered 'the little carpenter' and had so much
fun designing with this retro childrens play (see UCK: Artbox Expo).
More recently I tried an other vintage technique, potato stamps, to make
wrapping-paper. Hurray to old school!
STOPMOTION

I'm experimenting with stopmotion. Here is a 'sketch' I made a few weeks ago.
I build sort of a little stage with a 'frame' to hold the camera (see photo below).
Underneath I moved the objects while I took a picture of every move.

WOONBEURS PITCH

The 28th of september I won the Woonbeurs Pitching contest!
I presented a illustrative design for Woonbeurs 2010. The idea is
to make life-size illustrations of cabinets in which the participating
labels and companies can exhibit an object that represents there style.
Every object will be labeled with information about the designer or
company. It will be an nice artobject at the entrance, good advertisement
for the participants and a way for the visitors to see what they can find
inside. I'll be talking to the Woonbeurs-people soon for the how and when.
